SHINE Conference 2012

Single Slide Summaries: As in previous years, slides introducing yourself and your poster will be displayed during breakfast and breaks. You may submit your slide directly to Ilia Roussev at SHINE on a flash drive. You may download an example of such a slide HERE.
Accommodations
Room rate: Thanks to our wonderful workshop administrator (Ms. Umbe Cantu) and
workshop coordinator (Ilia Roussev) the room rate will be $169.00/night (single or
double occupancy) + 13.416 tax (2 combined) – This is significantly lower than the
government rate which for 2012 on Maui is $189. Conference reservations code is GSHINE. Reservations team number: 800-888-6100.

Other accommodation details:
- Please note that there is a $50 per person/per night charge for more than 2 persons in
any room, with a maximum of 4 persons per room. No charge for children under 17
years of age and younger staying in the same room with parents utilizing existing
bedding. - Mandatory $3.00/day for daily housekeeping ($6.00 for a suite)
- The Daily Resort Fee of $25.00/day has been waived.
- Daily Valet Parking (if used) $15.00 per car, per day.
- Porterage-Baggage Handling $10.00 per person, roundtrip.
- Free Internet in guest rooms and meeting rooms.

NOTE: When reservations are made, a deposit will be required equal to the room rate
and tax for the first and last night for each reservation. An individual's deposit is
refundable to that individual if the Resort receives notice of an individual's
cancellation at least 14 days prior to scheduled arrival.
Attendees are strongly encouraged to book at the conference hotel, Grand
Wailea, in order to avoid falling into attrition (penalty for not fulfilling the
number of rooms blocked for our event).

Currently available are talks from the 2010 Student Day to be used as resources or examples. The 2011 Student Day talks will be made available when I receive them. Additional student information will become available as the conference approaches.
